Miss Wardlaw Pageant 2009
Twenty-three contestants competed in the 2009 Miss Wardlaw Pageant held on Thursday, November 5th at 7pm in the Wardlaw Academy Gym. This year’s theme reflected the festive Mardi Gras celebration with green, gold and purple accents along with the traditional ferns resting atop white columns. Mistress of Ceremonies was Mrs. Anne Carroway who emceed the annual event sponsored by the Wardlaw PPO. During the first half of the pageant all the contestants took the stage individually in their respective categories before the panel of three judges. After a short intermission, the awards and crowns were presented to the eager young ladies. Taking the Miss Photogenic award in the Lower School Division was Young Miss Contestant Savannah Rodgers, daughter of Tim and Karen Rodgers. Miss Rodgers along with her sister, Little Miss Contestant Taylor Rodgers, were awarded medals for collecting the Highest Sponsorship Totals for grades K4 thru 5th. Jordan Williams, daughter of Tim and Deanna Williams, was crowned the 2009 Wee Miss winner. In the Little Miss division, Chelsea Glover, daughter of Tim and Donna Glover, was recognized as first runner-up to Rebekah Knowles, daughter of Eric and Charlotte Knowles, who was crowned with the Little Miss title. Five contestants competed in the Young Miss category with Elizabeth Warnken, daughter of Bill and Christie Warnken, receiving the first place title and Lindsey Glover, daughter of Tim and Donna Glover, accepting first runner-up. The Upper School divisions were then awarded following the Lower School crownings. Taking the Miss Photogenic award for grades 6th through 12th was Rebecca Campbell, daughter of Melissa Britt and Shawn Campbell. The contestant raising the Highest Sponsorship Total in the Upper School was Bree Schave’ Smith, daughter of James and Chemikia Smith. The Junior Miss title was awarded to Beatrice Faust, daughter of Bucky and Sally Faust. Elizabeth Christie, daughter of Robbie and Beth Christie, was awarded first runner-up in the Junior Miss division. The evening concluded with the crowning in the Miss Wardlaw division. Jessica Rutland, daughter of Billy and Jan Rutland, placed first runner-up to Raegan Addy, daughter of Jody and Lynn Addy, who was crowned as the 2009 Miss Wardlaw.
